First Post

Based on the first lecture for this course, I assume that we will doing a lot of designing of some sort. I predict that website/database designing may be involved in this course and that we will be applying our coding and designing abilities (from DECO100 and DECO1400) to help ourselves to progress through the tasks.

This semester I expect to find myself in a computing studio a lot more often, busily designing & coding away with myself or others in the course. I expect there to be some sort of topic that we will be given to apply our ideas towards. From last semester's experience with designing and coding, I assume there will be a lot of iterative tasks, going back and forth, and frustration before we finally come to a final project. At the moment, I can't predict anymore from this course apart from coding and designing.

I want to enhance in my coding skills so that i'm able to take on any challenges that i may face. I want (but doubt) to do more designing, testing and analysing than technical things like configuring or prototyping code related activities, but at the same time I want to learn how to do everything that a professional can do. Which involves a lot of work from where im currently positioned.

To be honest I'm not really worried about anything apart from the coding. I'm worried that I have forgotten coding rules, and i know that i still don't know how to code many things. I'm worried that I won't learn or understand codes and will fail as a result of this. I've done some work on codes and databases in the past but i've never understood the more technical side of it.

I hope that i'll be able to handle the work load and complete tasks within the given time frame. I hope the tutors/accommodators/instructor people are nice and fun. If we are put into groups i hope my group members are awesome little work achievers and aren't awkward. I hope I'll be able to work as well as everyone else in my group and please them rather than annoy them. But most of all I hope to gain skills from this course to work with a sense of direction and knowledge after the semester.
